Wood is currently recruiting for an on-site HSSES Lead to support our team for a project in Southern BC. This is a camp based position with a 10-on and 4-off rotation.
The HSSES Lead is responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety and Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements.
The successful candidate will:
- Build a strong safety culture and promote employee compliance with company and site safety rules, practices, procedures, and codes of practice.
- Work with supervisors and employees to identify, evaluate, control and monitor hazards in the workplace.
- Facilitate regular safety meetings and work to provide information to the workforce.
- Work with crews and supervision to address and mitigate hazards to ensure a safe and effective workplace.
- Complete employee safety training and orientations as required.
- Provide support to senior managers in incident and accident investigations through the use of an appropriate Investigation process (e.g. Helix or Taproot)
- Develop HSSES presentation material and reports to support the project and the company
- Update safety information and communication throughout the site
- Maintain and update HSSES records in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy
- Conduct and/or assist in regular safety inspection and/or audits
- Undertake lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and providing timely advice to Senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiatives
- Promote safety awareness and conduct routine risk and hazard assessments.
Wood is seeking an experiened Civil Constrution Manager to support a project in the local Edmonton Area. This is a term position, with an estimated completion time of mid-summer 2023. The civil Construction Manager will be responsible to plan, direct, and coordinate constructions activities. This person will Liaise with clients regarding activities concerned with the construction and needs of the project. Other duties include:
- Follow all company and site-specific safety rules. Working within the Company’s Safety Program at all times. Maintaining behaviour-based safety essentials and adherence to the Life Saving Rules. Understand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc.
- Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to adequately comprehend and communicate using the English Language. Listen and communicate effectively and respectfully.
- Liaise with Construction Team, Management, and Customer representatives to ensure safe and successful execution of all project goals.
- Respond to customer needs while promoting a safe workplace and meeting quality, budgetary and schedule requirements.
- Lead and participate in construction planning and progress meetings, responding and adapting to changing conditions.
- Able to interpret, understand and explain contract terms and project requirements to team members.
- Motivate, mentor, develop and direct employees throughout the workday.
- Delegate tasks to the construction supervision team to effectively manage project needs and deadlines.
- Regularly review all aspects of project progress, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, construction and safety codes and local laws.
- Work with the Quality Department, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet required specifications.
- Utilize Advanced Work Packages to direct construction activities.
- Perform other duties as required
Wood is hiring Construction Management Professionals to support a a plant shutdown in the Grande Prairie Area. Travel and LOA Provided. Both Day and Night Shift are available.
The Successful Candidate will:

Wood is currently accepting applications for Production Operations personnel with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be located on the Terra Nova FPSO to monitor, start-up, shutdown, and prepare process or utility systems.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Champion and follow all Control of Work processes (permit to work, zero energy lockout)
- Routine operation and inspection of all related pressure systems and rotating equipment
- Testing of product quality to set specifications for sales, injection water, produced water, injection gas, potable, and boiler feed water
- Monitor, control, and perform minor maintenance / adjustments on operating systems
- Support the PCS Ops to monitor and control of subsea wells, flowlines, and risers according to established procedures
- Maintain daily computerized Operator Field Tools (OFT) in operating area
- Perform all routine housekeeping duties in work area
- Safe and efficient operations in accordance with established procedures and regulations
- Maintain all regulatory, CAPP and company specific training
- Report all accidents, near misses and hazardous conditions as per Suncor’s standards and the management system (Enablon)
- Member of Offshore Emergency Response Team as required
- Maintain daily unit operating logbook for shift records
- Operate safe and efficient in accordance with established procedures and regulations
Responsible for four working areas:
- Area 1 – Forward Machinery Space, HVAC and Turret systems
- Area 2 – Topsides Process Systems
- Area 3 – Aft Machinery Space, MPGs and Flare systems
- Control Room – Process Control and Fire & Gas Control Systems
Production Operators will complete the assigned training and competency as outlined for their Area of responsibility; a Production Operator may be assigned to any area at any time, provided he / she has been successfully trained and assessed in that area.

Wood is currently recruiting for a Radio Operator with extensive experience in the oil and gas and/or petrochemical industry to join our team. This position is located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and will require you to travel offshore via helicopter or supply vessel.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Monitors and communicates with vessels and aircraft, Marine and aeronautical communications
- Performs official Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) functions
- Executes critical emergency response tasks
- Ensure that Distress / Safety / Weather and Traffic Advisory messages are brought immediately to the attention of the leadership
- General understanding of marine operations associated with offshore drilling installations and support craft
- Able to operate Platform Radio Equipment; Proficient in the use of radio and satellite telecommunications equipment, including computer applications for helicopter flight and vessel tracking
- Ensure the orderly and correct utilization of communications by others while carrying out their duties
- Communications with Helicopters, Supply and Support Vessels, Shore Base, etc.
- Coordination of Helicopter operations in conjunction with leadership and Helicopter contractors
- Communicating messages through the radio station to / from addressees in a timely manner
- Weather Observing Duties and liaison with the Weather Forecast Service
- Perform general watch duties for the Radar System & Telecommunications Network Management System
- Provide support and info for ice management including tracking and logging all ice targets
- Handle call and dispatch duties
- Maintain various logs / accounting procedures required by the Radio License
- Ensure Annual Inspection is up-to-date with respect to the renewal of Licenses, Surveys, etc.
- General administration support work
- Adherence to Control of Work system while carrying out all activities
- Report all accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions
- Other duties as may be required.
